An early Colonial Virginia Family. Nimrod Smith left Prince William County, Virginia and settled in Abbeville District, South Carolina in 1785. Early member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Nimrod Smith was a prominent land owner of the Broadmouth Creek area of Abbeville, Pendleton and later Anderson counties.
